So I have officially come to terms with the fact that Z is going to date before Mommy does. Even Elmo has better chances of getting a date than I do. Would anyone like to get in on this bet? That's the number 1 problem with living in a college town and being a non-traditional student.
I think I'll start lying about my age.

ODE TO MEXICO

Hola,Some of my favorite friends hail from Mexico. There's Robert, who is Z's adopted uncle, and of course, Edith-&-Jose. I say Edith-&-Jose as one word, because they're kind of a package deal, and I've never known them separately. And incidentally, Edith and Robert are 1st cousins. Edith-&-Jose are getting married next year, and even though I'm horribly jealous, I'm going to suck it up and join the wedding party. Robert is a senior in architecture and interior design who never fails to save my bacon. Not only does he repeatedly help me with my projects, he plays with Z and buys him clothes that match his. Edith has been known to take Z on shopping escapades, in which she gets many crazy looks from people like "that little blonde baby is YOURS??" Edith is affectionately known as Z's "Frauntie" (friend-auntie).
I think the best memory I have of Robert (other than our 3-4 hour text message conversations) is an incredibly awkward moment last September, where I cried on his shoulder for about 30 minutes on the steps outside of our textiles class. Miss Edith and I have many great memories....we spent almost every day together last summer, taking Z to parks, shopping, eating, internet surfing, and sharing stories about boys. And I believe we actually watched all 10 seasons of Friends at one point or another!
I can still only say relatively few things in Spanish...but I finally learned to say Roberto properly, which was a proud moment in my friendship with Robert.
Adios!
(Wrap him up, I'll take 2!!) :)
